• Donation Update: $50,000 USD required to Renovate and Shutter a School

In Kameruka, Budaka District, families once walked long distances to collect water from unsafe sources. Children missed school, and waterborne diseases were common. Through Kakwanga Islamic Relief’s Sadaqah Jariyah initiative, a borehole was installed right in the heart of the community. Clean water now flows just steps from their homes, and the health and dignity of the people have been restored.

The transformation was immediate. School attendance improved, hygiene practices became consistent, and families no longer had to choose between safety and survival. The borehole became more than a water source—it became a symbol of hope.

“We believe in empowering and equipping local leaders. We help people who are helping people.”

As the demand for clean water increases, there is often a resource constraint—usually in terms of equipment or skilled labor. For a charity, the driving force is purpose, not profit. Is it most important that every household has direct access? Can you reduce installation costs and still ensure safety? Is long-term community health more important than short-term convenience?
