In the heart of Kameruka, Budaka District, Kakwanga Islamic Relief is rewriting stories of pain into narratives of hope. For orphans like Fatuma, who lost both parents at a young age, life was filled with uncertainty. Left to care for her siblings, she faced hunger, isolation, and the threat of dropping out of school. But through our Orphan & Widow Support Program, Fatuma now receives monthly food packages, school sponsorship, and emotional care. She’s thriving in class and dreams of becoming a nurse.
Widows like Mariam, once marginalized and struggling to survive, now participate in skills training and receive household essentials. With newfound confidence, she’s started a small tailoring business and is able to support her children.
These are not just statistics—they are lives transformed. Since 2015, we’ve supported over 150 families, sponsored 100+ students, and delivered more than 150 clothing distributions. Our work is grounded in Islamic values of mercy, justice, and community.
