Education is the foundation of a thriving community. Yet for years, students at Kakwanga Primary School in Kameruka, Budaka District, studied in dilapidated classrooms with leaking roofs, broken desks, and overcrowded spaces. Teachers struggled to deliver lessons, and many children sat on the floor. The environment was discouraging, and dropout rates were rising.
Kakwanga Islamic Relief saw the need and took action. Through our infrastructure development program, the school was renovated—new classrooms were built, desks were provided, and sanitation facilities were installed. The transformation was immediate. Enrollment surged, attendance improved, and the community rallied behind the school.
Today, Kakwanga Primary School stands as a beacon of hope. Children walk in with pride, teachers teach with renewed energy, and parents are more involved than ever. This renovation wasn’t just about bricks and mortar—it was about rebuilding dreams.
Since 2015, we’ve renovated 1 school and constructed 2 mosques, all rooted in our mission to uplift communities through faith and service.
